From Trash to Treasure!

Hey guys!  So many of you have seen my photo in the Gallery with me in the blue dress sitting at the vanity!  Well this is the story behind that piece!  I found it on Facebook Yardsales (the first picture below is the one that was posted).  I knew it looked rough, but it intrigued me enough to go look at it.  When I got there with a friend of mine, and saw it first hand, I knew everyone would think I was crazy if I brought this piece home (including myself)!  It had been sitting outside so it was warped and cracked with water damage in several places, had rodents living in it and was just plain filthy... however, I couldn't pass it up!  I mean.. look at those designs!  Soo I took it home and began the restoration process!  The long, long restoration process!! From cleaning and sanding, and cleaning some more, and sanding some more, to vacuuming and scrubbing, cutting new backs and bottoms for the drawers, replacing the old wheels with new feet, some more cleaning and sanding, painting, touching up the designs and coating it with a clear coat!  Not to mention recovering and painting the seat to go with it!  The photos pretty much sum it up!!  The last photo is of it in its new home, being used as a desk at Keller Williams by a lovely lady who bought it from me!  Check out the photos below!!  :)
